Mine is from the top probably easiest. The j hook uses a spring connected to the wastegate lever which controls the max boost pressure at which the wastegate opens. An aftermarket hook will keep the wastegate closed longer which allows for higher boost. The j hook regulates the waste gate facilitating greater boost numbers which rise even higher as performance modifications are added.
