For heavy duty comfort the danner mountain light ii is like stepping into a tank lined with velvet. I went on an 8 mile hike in them without even breaking them in and they were fine. The boots are very sturdy and well made like all danner boots. Heel counters not padded. One piece of good leather to last possibly a lifetime and stitchdown construction that can be resoled. And it was making me nervous.

I kicked the crap out of these boots for well over 400 miles in caves through briars and on gnarly rock outcroppings. A nubuck leather and 1000 denier nylon upper combined with danner s stitchdown construction offer unparalleled durability and stability. This is the most comfortable boot i ve tested and it keeps getting more comfortable the longer i use it.
